Health and Nutrition

Health

Camp Saginaw’s Health Center is located in the center of camp and is well-equipped to manage all of the medical needs for our campers and staff. The Health Center is staffed by experienced nurses and doctors. The medical staff is available 24 hours a day and understands the unique nature of healthcare in the camp setting. The Health Center is air-conditioned, and well-designed with a reception area, exam rooms, overnight rooms, and a secure medication room. Our medication management and delivery system - administered in partnership with CampMeds - provides security and safety for campers and parents. Saginaw is also located within five miles of a regional medical center where we enjoy a collaborative relationship with several specialty physician groups.

Nutrition

Camp Saginaw’s air-conditioned Dining Hall is a place where the spirit and traditions of camp come alive. Campers enjoy meals seated by bunk. Everyday, campers find nutritious, healthy, fresh, child-friendly food - and plenty of it. Our Dining Hall is cafeteria-style and serves three meals a day. We also offer an afternoon snack that we call Milk Bar. Our menu is carefully planned and provides several options for campers. In addition to the main entree, we offer a pasta bar, cereal bar, a complete salad bar, a peanut butter and jelly bar, and more.

During the summer, we purchase all of our produce from local farmers and we are proud to support our community. At every meal, we offer fresh fruits and vegetables. At Milk Bar and evening canteen, we always have fresh fruit available.

Saginaw’s staff and Dining Hall are also equipped to manage food allergies (peanut, dairy, soy, celiac, and tree nuts). We will happily accommodate your child’s dietary needs, and we work with our camper families to make sure that camper dietary needs are met.
