Adventure

GEAR UP FOR A CHALLENGE!

The activities offered in our adventure program are among our campers’ favorites. From the zip line to dirt bikes, campers experience the thrill of these challenging activities while qualified instructors ensure that safety is always the top priority. Through our adventure program, campers learn valuable skills such as teamwork, cooperation, communication, and trust.

Adventure Course

The adventure course elective teaches campers teambuilding skills in our low ropes course and high ropes course. We offer over twenty elements, including Jacob’s Ladder, Tire Climbs, Three-Line Bridge, and a Trust Fall Platform. The adventure course is offered as an elective to all campers at Saginaw.

Aerial Adventure Course

Our newest activity at camp is our Aerial Course. This course sits high in the trees, and has ten different elements - including twisting ladders, rope bridges, a cargo net, and multiple zip lines. Campers self-belay themselves around the course, which allows them to go at their own pace. It’s no surprise that this has quickly become one of Saginaw’s favorite activities!

Archery

Archery is a classic overnight summer camp program. Campers are taught archery skills by certified instructors. Saginaw’s archery program is offered as a bunk activity to all campers.

ATVs

ATVs are another camper favorite. Campers learn how to operate ATVs by driving around our track that is complete with bumps, twists, and turns. Saginaw’s ATV program is offered as a bunk activity to all campers.

Climbing Wall

With three distinct sections for beginner, intermediate, and advanced climbers, our 60 foot climbing wall offers campers of all skill levels the chance to achieve success through this popular bunk activity. Whether a camper makes it up 5 feet or to the top of the wall, each individual feels a sense of accomplishment.

Dirt Bikes

Campers are taught how to change gears, use a clutch, and drive around our track on Honda dirt bikes. Saginaw’s dirt bike program is offered to Inter and Senior campers as an elective.

Fishing

Campers are regularly successful at catching fish, ranging from trout to sunnie, on our private lake. Fishing is offered as a bunk activity and as an elective to the Junior and Inter campers.

Go Karts

Campers race around our black top track complete with twists and turns. Saginaw’s Go Kart program is offered as a bunk activity to all campers.

Laser Tag

Laser tag is an action packed activity which we offer as a bunk activity. The campers are split into two teams and play games such as Capture the Flag, Last One Standing, and more.

Nature Den

Camp Saginaw’s Nature Den is filled with critters and nature collections. Turtles, snakes, and fish are just some of the animals in the “Den.” The campers are encouraged to handle the animals and participate in their care. Our commitment to environmental education starts with hands-on activities that foster a relationship with the natural environment.

Outdoor Adventure

The program includes many experiential activities. Campers can pan for gold down at the gorge below the lake, or hunt for geodes at the rock ledge near the outpost campsite. Campers participate in nature hikes, stream study, and outdoor cooking. Outdoor Adventure is offered as a bunk activity for Junior campers.

Riflery/Pellet Guns

Campers are taught shooting skills by certified shooting instructors. Saginaw’s pellet gun program is offered as a bunk activity to Junior campers. Saginaw’s riflery program is a bunk activity for Inter and Senior campers.

Zip Line

As a favorite bunk activity at Saginaw, our zip line allows campers to experience a true thrill. Campers climb up to Cloud 9 - our 60-foot cabin in the sky - and jump off the platform to zip over 100 yards for the ride of their life.
