We are so excited for this summer! Please see below for important information for our campers for the summer of 2025.
The information below is current as of May 7th, 2025.
TECHNOLOGY POLICY
As you know, Saginaw believes that our campers have the most successful experience at camp when they are “unplugged.” We no longer allow old phones or iPod Touches at camp - even if they have been cleared of apps. Permitted MUSIC ONLY devices are iPod Shuffles, MP3 players, or the Campfire Player. If you would like to purchase a Campfire Player, you can go to their website HERE. Campers may also choose to bring a camera to camp to capture all of the highlights of their summer.
CAMP LAUNDRY
We are excited to share that we have built a new and larger laundry facility at camp. To make the camp laundry more efficient, we require all campers to purchase a color-coded laundry bag through our camp outfitter, The Camp Spot. (This is the same company where you purchase the required Saginaw shirts). The laundry bag will be embroidered with your child’s full name and be a specific color for their camp division (age group). In addition to the required bag, all campers need to bring a second laundry bag or pop-up hamper, which will be used while the official laundry bag is at the laundry room. Laundry will still be picked up weekly by our staff and returned the following day.
Division | Grades | Color |
---|---|---|
Junior Girls | 1st - 5th grades | Dark Green Bag |
Junior Boys | 1st - 5th grades | Navy Bag |
Inter Girls | 6th - 7th grades | Purple Bag |
Inter Boys | 6th - 7th grades | Yellow Bag |
Senior Girls | 8th - 11th grades | Red Bag |
Senior Boys | 8th - 11th grades | Maroon Bag |
CAMPERS COMING AND GOING
We understand from time to time there are special circumstances when a camper needs to be picked up from camp and brought back to camp during their session. While we try to be accommodating when necessary, campers coming and going from camp is not ideal. It is very disruptive to the campers, staff, and our programming, so we ask that you please make a concerted effort to plan accordingly. Any camper needing to come and go from camp will have to do so during the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm. We are asking for your cooperation in limiting any camper departures, unless absolutely necessary. We appreciate your cooperation and working with us to provide the best experience for our camp community.

Camper Profile Form: This Form will provide the camp with pertinent information about the camper’s home background, personality and character, interests and abilities, previous camping experience, and parent’s personal comments. This information is shared with the guidance counselors as well as the medical staff. Please be candid and honest. The more we know about your child, the better off we will be in caring for your child.
Health History Form: It is essential that you take the time to update the information in this Form every year. The Medical Staff reviews this information in order to properly care for your child.
Transportation Form: This Form is for camper and baggage transportation to and from camp. Baggage transportation (Metro) is $80 each way up to three items. Each additional item is $10. If you would like to utilize our Metro service, please make sure to add it in the Additional Options section.
Vaping Policy: All parents are required to read and electronically sign this Form. We ask that you discuss the information contained in this Form with your children.
Dirt Bike Release Form: Inter and Senior campers (entering 6th to 11th grades) will have the opportunity to participate in our Dirt Bike elective program. This Release Form must be completed in order for your child to participate in Dirt Bikes. If you do not want your child to participate, please indicate this on the Form and also inform your child so that they do not sign up for this elective.
Bunk Requests: Please put 1 (one) or 2 (two) names of campers that your child would like to bunk with. Bunk requests are not guaranteed, although we will reach out to you if we are unable to honor a request. The deadline to complete this form is May 1st, 2025.
Spending Money Preference Many of our trip destinations have transitioned to cashless systems, and we will be doing the same for any in-camp spending as well (sodas, stamps, camp store, etc). Families will have two options to manage camper spending:
Please use this form to indicate your preference by June 1st, 2025. The default option is for camp to manage your child’s spending, and this will be selected for you if you do not indicate otherwise on this form by the deadline.
Additional Options: This Form lists all the services and activities that Saginaw provides which require additional payments. You may select additional options directly on this Form and submit your selections. If you are using our baggage service (Metro), you will need to add it here.
(can be uploaded in Campanion or CampInTouch, emailed to askus@campsaginaw.com, or mailed to our office)
Physician’s Examination Form: This Form is to be printed out, completed by your child’s physician and submitted to the camp office. We will accept any physician examinations that have occurred since August 9th, 2023 (up to 24 months prior to the end of this summer).
Immunization Form: Please get a copy of your child’s immunization record from your child’s physician and submit it to the camp office. You can also print our Immunization Form and have your child’s physician complete it.
(You also have the option of inputting your child’s immunizations directly into the online Health History Form. If you input this information online, you are not required to complete the paper Immunization Form.
Parent Authorization Form: This Form is to be printed out, completed by you, and submitted to the camp office.
Code of Conduct: All parents and campers are required to read and sign this form, and submit it to the camp office.
Getting Ready for Camp Manual: This is a guide to provide you with useful information and answers to many questions about the camping experience at Camp Saginaw.
Packing List & Required Clothing: We strongly suggest that you use the Packing List to help you pack for your child. You can also shop for required Saginaw gear through The Camp Spot.
Bus and Metro Chart: This chart lists all the dates and times for Metro (luggage) and Camper Transportation. This chart can also be found at the end of the “Getting Ready for Camp” manual.
If you need your login information, require assistance, or would like to schedule a personal tutorial in completing online Forms, please call our office at 856-428-6256, or email us at askus@campsaginaw.com. We are happy to help!
If your child will need to take any medication on a regular basis while at camp (including non-prescription medications), you are required to use CampMeds. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a medication convenience fee of $299, and/or your child not receiving their medications while at camp.
Please go to CampMeds to register for this service.
There are rare circumstances when CampMeds cannot accommodate a camper’s medication requirements. In the event that this happens, CampMeds will contact our office on your behalf and explain the circumstances.
Approved exempt pill-form medication must be sent to and arrive at camp (740 Saginaw Road, Oxford, PA 19363) at least five days prior to your child’s arrival via UPS, FedEx or DHL to the attention of the Health Center. Do NOT use USPS.
WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT MEDICATIONS AT BUS STOPS OR AT PARENT DROP-OFF THAT HAVE BEEN PRE-ARRANGED WITH OUR OFFICE. Eligible medications are rescue inhalers/respiratory inhalants, EpiPens, growth hormones, allergy shots, and any medication that requires refrigeration.
Rescue Inhalers: Please bring two rescue inhalers with your camper to the bus stop or to camp for parent drop-off. Make sure that rescue inhalers are in original packaging (if applicable) and have been labeled with a Sharpie (on both the medication tube and the dispenser).
EpiPens: Please bring two EpiPens in the original pharmacy box with the prescription label attached with your camper to the bus stop or to camp for parent drop-off. Make sure the actual EpiPen(s) is labeled with your campers name using a Sharpie (not just the box). Give the EpiPen(s) to our staff at the bus stop or drop-off in a clearly labeled zip lock bag. The EpiPen(s) will be kept in the Health Center.
Growth Hormone Shots / Allergy Shots: Please bring this medication/supply in original pharmacy packaging with your camper to the bus stop or to camp for parent drop-off. Give the medication/supplies to our staff at the bus stop or at drop-off in a clearly labeled container or cooler, if it requires refrigeration. This cooler/ice packs should be labeled and will be returned to you at the end of the session with any remaining medications. Please include original doctor instructions with allergy shots. We will complete the documentation and return the originals to you at the end of the session. If growth hormone dose is different than the prescription label (due to a recent adjustment) please include a doctor’s note indicating the change in dose for our records and to assure proper dosing while at camp.
Camp Saginaw’s Health Center stocks many common over-the-counter medications that your child may need on an as-needed basis (examples: Tylenol, Advil/Motrin, Benadryl, allergy medications, cough and cold preparations, Pepto-Bismol). We stock Claritin tablets and Zyrtec liquid for children who do not use this regularly. If your child should start using it on a more regular basis, we will contact you.
If your child takes any over-the-counter medication regularly (such as a vitamin or an allergy medication), you are required to use CampMeds. You may want to speak with your child’s physician to determine if an over-the-counter medication is necessary while your child is at camp.
As we - and our trip destinations - move to cashless systems, families will now have two options to manage their child’s spending money during the summer.
Option 1: Send Your Camper with a Major Credit or Debit Card
This can be a youth account, a card linked to your account, or a credit or debit card that works at most retailers. We’ll securely store the card in our office and distribute it to your camper before each trip, then collect it after the trip.
Note: Any in-camp purchases (sodas, stamps, camp store, etc.) will be charged to your account and billed or auto-charged monthly.
Option 2: Camp-Managed Spending Money
We’ll handle your child’s spending money for the summer and distribute funds or cards as needed. You’ll see a line item added to your camp bill, and we’ll take care of the rest. To make things easy, this can be paid by credit card with no additional processing fee this year.
We’ve also allocated an appropriate amount for in-camp purchases (sodas, stamps, camp store, etc.) — this is intended to be an all-inclusive amount.
This option was overwhelmingly preferred by families in our recent survey and is the most streamlined approach for campers and camp staff alike.
Deadline
To make sure every camper is properly prepared, we’ve added a Spending Money Preference Form in your CampInTouch account. Please login and complete it today.
If we do not receive your selection by June 1st, 2025, you will be automatically enrolled in the Camp-Managed Spending Money program and charged according to the chart below on Monday, June 2 so we can plan appropriately.
Please note that we cannot accept cash or gift cards. These will be rejected at the bus stop or front gate if sent with your camper. This policy helps us ensure consistency and security across all trips.
Spending needs will vary by age and session length. For example, a two-week Junior camper will need far less spending money than a full-season Senior, especially with this year’s exciting new trips. As always, any unused cards will be sent home with your child. See chart below for amounts.
If your camper is currently enrolled for First Half only and may extend into Second Half, please notify us as soon as possible.
Two Weeks | First Half | Second Half | Full Season | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Junior (1st-5th Grades) | $30 | $150 | $30 | $180 |
Inter (6th-7th Grades) | – | $250 | $150 | $400 |
Senior (8th-10th Grades) | – | $250 | $175 | $425 |
Senior (11th Grade) | – | $350 | $250 | $600 |
Mail: All campers enjoy getting mail while they are at camp. We recommend sending traditional mail as well as email through your Campanion or CampInTouch account. Send all letters to:
Your Child’s Name
Your Child’s Division (Junior Girls, e.g.)
Camp Saginaw
740 Saginaw Road
Oxford, PA 19363
Package Policy: No box packages or food packages are permitted at camp. Please share this information with family and friends. We do allow items that fit in a 9” x 12” flat envelope such as magazines, puzzle books, stickers, etc. We do open all packages that arrive at camp and will discard any food items. The ONLY exceptions are:
Birthday Pizza Party: If your child has a birthday while they are at camp, you have the option to order a pizza party. We order in pizzas from our favorite local pizza shop for lunch for the bunk to enjoy. Please call our office to make arrangements. It is $8.00 per person in the bunk, including staff.
Peanut/Tree Nut Allergies: We have several campers that have peanut/tree nut allergies. As a reminder, we are a nut-aware camp. This means we do not cook or bake with any nuts. We do have peanut butter in one location of our Dining Hall and we are able to safely manage and monitor the peanut butter in this way. Please DO NOT pack or send your child any items that contain peanuts or tree nuts.
Cell Phones: One privilege for our oldest campers (ONLY for campers entering 11th grade) is to bring a cell phone to camp. Cell phones will be collected by the bus supervisor at the pick-up locations, or at the front gate if you are driving your child to camp. Please place the cell phone and charger in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name. The phones and chargers will be kept in the camp office. Campers will have one designated 45 minute period per week to use their phones. On the last day of camp, we will give back phones and chargers.
Trips: Included in this summer’s program for our Aides and Hill 1 campers are two additional out-of-camp trips. One trip will be during the first session, and one will be during the second session.
One trip will be to Splash Zone Water Park in Wildwood, NJ. Splash Zone has a Flow Rider - a simulated surf machine where riders can flow board or bodyboard. In order to use the Flow Rider, an online waiver must be completed by a parent or guardian. In addition to the waiver, the park requires a copy of a parent’s or guardian’s driver’s license to verify that the parent or guardian completed the waiver. We will send you a link to the waiver when it is available. Please send the driver’s license copy to askus@campsaginaw.com.
Participation in the Flow Rider is optional and there are plenty of other activities if you opt out of this for your child.
Please know that Camp Saginaw takes the health and well-being of our campers and staff very seriously. We will do everything we can to provide our camp families with a safe and fun place for their child to spend the summer.
We are counting down the days until we are all reunited in the 19363!
